The Effects of Estradiol and Progesterone on the AT Pase Activity of Cell Debris Fraction from Rabbit Uterus

Abstract
|

|
The author investigated the effects of estradiol and progesterone on the Na+-K+activated AT
Pase activity of cell debris fraction from rabbit uterus and obtained the following results:
1. The cell debris fraction contained the Na+-K+- activated AT Pase in the presence of Mg++. The AT Pase activity increased according to the increase of protein content in the fraction.
2. Estradiol had no effect on the AT Pase activity while progesterone markedly depressed the AT. Pase activity.
3. The AT Pase inhibition of progesterone was proportional to incubation time.
